myPickering is capable of not only allowing a resident or customer of the City to electronically submit for a deck or shed permit, with future ability to accept a road occupancy, film, or pool enclosure permit and more. Coming soon; users are able to submit minor variance applications, planning documents, check on the ‘status’ for their approvals, and communicate with City staff.

The app assists the municipality in its evolution to incorporate a digital business model thereby connecting with residents and customers to allow for a more efficient use of time on both ends.

The Pickering resident or customer can always physically travel to City Hall to conduct business, either to pay their taxes or see their elected officials. This is a mainstay of municipal government and will never go away. This digital evolution in business is in line with surrounding municipalities, and some may argue, leading the way in Durham Region.
